Schedule personalization

Mobile app · Schedule
Updated 21 de julio de 2026

ExpiWell schedules surveys around your day, not a fixed clock. Notification times follow your device's time zone and adjust automatically if you travel, so a "9 AM survey" stays at 9 AM local wherever you are.

How timing adapts to you

  • Automatic time zone. When you move across time zones, the app updates your survey windows so they keep matching your local morning, afternoon, and evening. You can also set it yourself in Settings → Update Timezone if needed.
  • Your own windows. Surveys open inside the windows your research team defined. Within a window, notifications may be sent at a fixed time or randomized, so prompts feel natural rather than clockwork; see Randomization.

Personalized timings (some studies)

Certain studies enable personalized timings, which let the schedule adapt to each participant — for example, anchoring surveys to your own wake and sleep times, or re-offering a survey you missed. This is configured by your research team; the participant experience is simply that surveys arrive at times that fit your routine. On the researcher side this is documented in Personalize timings & retake missed surveys.

Keep timings accurate

For surveys to reach you at the right moments, keep the app allowed to send notifications and run in the background, and let your phone keep its time zone set automatically. See Notifications.

Troubleshooting

  • Surveys arriving at odd hours after travel? Open Settings → Update Timezone to resync.
  • Missing surveys entirely? They're only available inside their window — check that notifications are enabled, then contact your research team if it continues; see Contacting the researchers.
