One-off survey projects

Updated July 21, 2026

While ExpiWell is built for repeated experience sampling (short surveys over days or weeks), some studies are one-off — a single survey you complete once, such as a baseline questionnaire, an intake form, or a wrap-up survey.

Taking a one-off survey

You join a one-off study exactly like any other: add it with an access code or accept it from Discover. The difference is what happens after you submit:

  1. Open the study from your Current tab.
  2. Complete the single survey it contains.
  3. Once submitted, the study shows 100% and moves to your completed experiences — there are no further surveys to wait for.

See Available & completed experiences for how progress and completion are displayed.

Note

A one-off survey is available inside the window your research team set, just like any survey. If you don't submit before it closes, contact your research team about re-opening it — see Contacting the researchers.

One-off vs. repeating studies

  • One-off — a single survey, completed once (baseline, screening, or follow-up).
  • Repeating (EMA/ESM) — short surveys delivered on a schedule over time, the core of experience sampling.

A single study can also combine both: a one-time baseline survey followed by a repeating daily survey. Your home screen tracks your progress through all of them.
